I am an affiliated postdoctoral researcher with Wallenberg Center for Financial Research (WCEFIR) at the Hanken School of Economics in Finland. My research interests include financial management, corporate finance, corporate governance and international finance. My research focuses on the link and interaction between organizational governance and financial performance, financial policy, agency problem, cultural integration, managerial incentives, intellectual capital, labor market and executive career paths to the top. For example, I examine how human capital activities like founder post-merger positioning and CEO selection affect corporate governance and firm performance. My research goals include: (1) identify organizational governance problem through comprehensive analyses from both financial and management perspectives; (2) deal with organizational governance problem in detailed contexts (e.g., countries, regions, stages, transitions, events, policies, business cycles, etc).

My current research projects include: (1) “International merger waves and corporate innovation”. Corporate innovation varies with countries due to differences in innovation tradition, creative environment, national culture, dominant religion, economic policy, political uncertainty, legislation and regulation. I investigate whether cross-border mergers can mutually improve innovation opportunities, innovative capacity, and financial performance for both targets and acquirers. (2) “Corporate internationalization and management labor market.” I examine how international experience affects CEO selection and multinational corporate governance.
